Topic: Moving away from managing a list of projects to Portfolio Management

IT Departments manage an extensive list of projects. However, the decisions on which projects are prioritised bear little resemblence to the overall strategy. This leaves the IT department to poor governance practices, such as "first past the post" project approvals, vague prioritisation criteria or inconsistent prioritisation decisions

What foundations can we put in place to enable more effective decision making?

Jon Baxter will prepare a short discussion document on the topic and send it out one week before for the signed up forum members to review and then debate the practical application in the meeting. This will give us great insight on how we can do things differently.
